The visual editor makes it as easy to work with configurators as it is to work with built-in tools. FullSwitch also offers professional activity logging and job processing statistics to help you locate critical points of the workflow.

What’s New?

Better support for third-party automation
Switch 09 introduces a number of new configurators (third-party applications that easily integrate with Switch). Most noticeably for GMG Connect, ICS Remote Director, Dutch Software Elvis and WoodWing Enterprise. Switch 09 also makes it easier to work with the expanded flow element set. A search field allows easy identification of flow elements by their name or intended functionality.
A favorites section stores shortcuts to frequently used flow elements. And if you are looking for information about their functionality and use, it is only one click away as all configurators provide an easy link to the Crossroads website.

Professional email support
When you need to send email notifications to another department or to your customers it is now possible in plain text and HTML format. In both cases templates can be used that are dynamically filled-in by Switch allowing perfectly styled emails to be sent. Next to pop3 support to check emails, Switch 09 also supports IMAP servers. Support for secured checking and sending of emails makes the email tools compatible with more enterprise environments.

Easier flow editing
Several improvements in Switch 09 make creating new flows or updating existing flows quicker and easier. Folders can automatically be added when two tools or configurators are connected, a flow element can be inserted in an existing connection and connections can be moved from one element to another. Additionally Switch now also allows editing properties of multiple flow elements in one go.

Splitting and merging PDF files
Switch 09 provides a new flow element to split multi-page PDF files in single pages or ranges of pages and a tool to merge separate PDF files into one consolidated PDF file. These tools are based on the Enfocus PDF library and don’t require the use of external applications.

Submitting jobs and making manual decisions
Switch 09 comes with a completely renewed SwitchClient. This tool that can run on the workstation of operators, job managers or even external customers, allows submitting jobs to Switch and making manual decisions. Jobs are presented in a very graphical way using thumbnails and operators are disturbed in their work only when absolutely needed.

Claro technology, based on Claro Individual Image Analysis, automatically and individually analyses images of varying type and quality. It delivers information on parameters such as sharpness, contrast, brightness, colour balance, natural greens and blues, skin tones, Exif information, etc. It then solves possible issues and automatically delivers consistently superb image quality.

Elpical Claro Single in an integration module for automatic image processing fits seamlessly into many standards-based workflows such as Enfocus Switch® or Puzzleflow®. Through its command line interface it can also easily be integrated in home-grown workflows.

Claro Individual Image Analysis
Automatic image enhancement is a real challenge. What is good for one image is not good for the other. Although it seems contradictory, automatic image enhancement needs an individual approach. With its Claro Individual Image Analysis, Claro analyses every individual image thoroughly, looking for such parameters as:

• Sharpness
• Brightness
• Contrast
• Colour balance
• Natural greens
• Skin tones
• Exif information
• … and more.

This extensive individual analysis is fundamental to Elpical’s image enhancement technology. Because of this fundamental approach that the Claro products achieve consistent high-quality results even when the origin and quality of the original images vary significantly.

Claro utilises superior enhancement techniques. The sharpening that will be applied to a given image varies in amount and threshold, depending on the sharpness and (reduced) noise levels in the original image, a sophisticated anti-halo filter is applied to reduce the undesirable side effects of sharpening, it will even reduce existing JPEG artefacts.

Claro’s local contrast-enhancement allows for details to be preserved and enhanced both in the bright as well as in the dark areas of the image, without effecting overall brightness of the image. Individual image analysis ensures that this technique is only applied to images that require it.
